Sporting Maardu
Maardu is a sports city, offering a wide range of activities—from football, boxing, and underwater swimming to taekwondo, table tennis, and rhythmic gymnastics. Talented athletes from Maardu have brought numerous victories to the city. Maardu Olümp Kalev Club has been recognized for several years as the strongest boxing club in Estonia. Young taekwondo athletes and sumo wrestlers have achieved success in various competitions, while victories by underwater swimmers and competitive dancers are celebrated both in Estonia and across Europe. The football team Maardu Linnameeskond has won the Esiliiga championship and has experience competing in Estonia’s top-tier Premium League.

Rhythmic gymnastics tournaments take place three times a year, with major international competitions such as Baltic Autumn, Maikellukesed, and the national event Veebruari Täht, attracting athletes and spectators from across the region.
Maardu also welcomes athletes from around the world to participate in international boxing tournaments, Greco-Roman wrestling, and table tennis competitions, renowned for their high level and hospitality. Football lovers eagerly anticipate the Maardu Cup international youth football tournament, where young players compete against teams from other countries.
